Photography & Nature Talks

I am an experienced speaker who can give a lively presentation based on my wildlife and landscape photos. I have talked to camera clubs, conservation groups, bird societies, WI’s, wildlife trusts, schools, libraries and festivals here and abroad. Upcoming and recent bookings include camera clubs in Bristol, Stourbridge, Tetbury, Downend, Ludlow and Rhondda Valley. I recently spent a week running workshops and giving the keynote at the 2017 Wisconsin Lakes Partnership Convention and will be running expeditions and workshops in 2018 in Shropshire, Alaska and Florida. Talks can be tailored to requirements, from 50min-1hour one-off presentations, to full evening slideshow talks in two halves.

Areas covered include my work for the last three years for the National Trust and Natural England on their major new environmental project Stepping Stones that looks at ways to link together these two iconic nature reserves. This project has resulted in two new publications - the first ever guidebook that I both wrote and supplied the photos for, to the Long Mynd for the National Trust and my book Upland, a sumptuous 200 page full colour exploration of the two reserves and the valleys between. I also talk about my journey through mental health difficulties and taking up the camera four years ago and my developing a relationship with the media and the work involved in getting my photos published in every single national paper in the last year. Lastly, I try to talk about beauty and conservation, with the aim of capturing moments in nature that highlight what we have to lose if we are not careful. Above all, I want to share wonder and what surrounds us. And there are jokes as well!

'Many thanks for coming to speak to the Teme Valley Wildlife Group last week. We had many appreciative comments afterwards. Your enthusiastic and positive narrative was well received and your photographs were absolutely stunning. The talk might have been about the borderlands, but you certainly crossed a border, leading us from wildlife photography into the world of art. Thank you.'
Stephanie Mocroft, Chairman, TVWG

'Great to have an enthusiastic speaker who is not only a talented wildlife photographer but is also entertaining and has fascinating stories to tell. Andrew shares his knowledge freely and his talks include lots of photography tips and insight into how to photograph wildlife. His images are marvelous and an inspiration to seek them out for ourselves.'
Paul Chambers, Chair, Shropshire Photographic Society

'Hi Andrew. I would just like to thank you again for your most entertaining and excellent presentation to our club last night. All who I have spoken to really enjoyed it, and have become away inspired.' Ian Wilson, Chairman – Wrexham District Photographic Society

'Andrew visited Marches Independent Photography in October and gave a talk that was both highly entertaining as well as being very informative. His passion for wildlife and the landscape is evident, using his camera to explore the wilder and more intimate parts of Shropshire and the Marches.'
